NHL Rumors: 3 Dallas Stars Right-Shot Defenseman Targets
The Dallas Stars' postseason run came to a quick and disappointing end, as they lost their first-round series against the Minnesota Wild in six games. Now, the Stars are entering the summer with plenty of questions.
One of the Stars' biggest roster needs is another top-four right-shot defenseman. Due to this, let's look at three right-shot defensemen who could end up being on Dallas' radar this offseason.
Rasmus Andersson
If Rasmus Andersson ends up hitting the free-agent market this summer instead of re-signing with the Vegas Golden Knights, expect the Stars to target him. They were connected to him heavily before he was traded to Vegas this season, and he would be a major addition to their top four if signed. In 81 games this season, he had 17 goals, 30 assists, and 47 points.
Darren Raddysh
With the Stars needing help on the right side of their blueline, it would make a lot of sense if they targeted Darren Raddysh in free agency. The 30-year-old had a monster regular season for the Tampa Bay Lightning, posting 22 goals and 70 points in 73 games. With numbers like these, he would give the Stars another impactful offensive defenseman to work with.
Dougie Hamilton
It is no secret that the Devils want to move on from Hamilton. If the Devils are open to retaining a portion of his $9 million AAV, he would have the potential to be a strong pickup for the Stars. The veteran defenseman is still a solid offensive defenseman and notably heated up in a big way as this season rolled on.
