Insider: Vincent Trocheck Changes Agents Specifically To Expedite Trade
With trade season picking up around the NHL, we're expecting a busy couple of weeks leading up to the Draft and then free agency.
A big move behind the scenes took place this past week when New York Rangers' prime trade candidate Vincent Trocheck went out and changed agents. And you know what that means...
Sources say Vincent Trochek has hired Pat Brisson and CAA to represent him moving forward. Trochek was a target of trade speculation heading into the Deadline, so this change will fuel more of that in the days ahead. Lots of teams interested.

Insider Darren Dreger dropped the news, and as he mentioned, there are "lots of teams interested" in landing the Rangers' elite two-way second-line center.
Pierre LeBrun has since confirmed, on Melnick in the Afternoon, that the agent change was all about ending all this messing around of the last several months and finally getting a trade done.
(Trocheck) Went to Pat Brisson, and the intention there in hiring him is basically, let's see if you can get me a change of address. So that will be an important file for Pat Brisson, for sure.
It's long been known that Trocheck wants to stay in the East, and that he has a 12-team no-trade list, and he'll use it.
"I have a 12-team no-trade clause so the teams that are on that are obviously teams I don't want to go to," he said back at the trade deadline. He also added that he only wants to go to a team that's ready to win.
Minnesota has shown interest in Trocheck dating back to the trade deadline, but LeBrun said it could be difficult for them without a third team involved. "They really emptied the cupboards for Quinn Hughes."
Mollie Walker this week reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs are also among the many interested teams that have poked around on Trocheck. And the way that new Leafs GM John Chayka has come storming out of the gate, it wouldn't be a surprise to see them as a contender for the Rangers' veteran pivot.
