The Florida Panthers have made a huge decision on their goaltending dilemma, as they've completed a trade with the New Jersey Devils for Jacob Markstrom.

This move means that two-time Stanley Cup-winning goalie Sergei Bobrovsky will be heading to market as an unrestricted free agent on Wednesday. His run with the Panthers is done.

The return to New Jersey in the Markstrom deal looks like this:

Evan Rodrigues, Jesper Boqvist and Ben Steeves head to the Devils in return for Markstrom and Angus Crookshank.

Pierre LeBrun adds that New Jersey will not retain salary on Markstrom, whose two-year extension kicks in next season with a $6 million AAV.

This move follows closely behind the Panthers already having acquired Akira Schmid. Their goaltending tandem for next season is set. It's goodbye Bob in Florida.

The Panthers will be moving on from pending UFA and team legend Sergei Bobrovsky. The two sides have not been able to agree on a new contract, and he'll now head to the open market. The Toronto Maple Leafs are among the teams that have been linked to the two-time Stanley Cup winner.
