NHL Trade: Ross Colton On The Move As Avalanche & Predators Complete Deal
With last week's move of Chris MacFarland to the Nashville Predators, he has poached one of his former charges from the Colorado Avalanche. Ross Colton has been dealt from Denver to Nashville.

Going with Colton to the Preds is minor league goalie Isak Posch.
In return, the Avs are receiving another AHL netminder, Magnus Chrona, a 2026 3rd round pick (#74), and their own 2027 3rd round pick. They also get some cap space freed up.
Colton is going into the final season of his four-year, $4M AAV contract. The middle-six forward will take his versatile, two-way play and secondary scoring to Nashville.
The 29-year-old suffered a bit of a dip in scoring this season, with just nine goals after registering between 16 and 22 each of the previous four years. But the gritty center/forward also posted 159 hits and a solid plus/minus rating of +9.
One intriguing offshoot of this deal, as noted by PuckPedia, is that by Colorado re-acquiring their own 2027 3rd Round Pick, this makes them now eligible to sign a player to an offer sheet in the $1.576M to $2.388M range this summer.
