Drysdale, 24, will be an unrestricted free agent at the contract's expiry, in 2030, at the age of 28.
The puck-moving d-man established himself as a top-four blueliner this past season, posting 32 points with improved defensive play, while logging over 21 minutes of ice time per night.
The signing comes less than 48 hours after they locked in their other key RFA, Trevor Zegras, also to a four-year extension. His came with a $9.125 million AAV.
Just a couple of days ago, insider Marco D'Amico of Daily Faceoff reported that during the past season, the Flyers were targeting Drysdale’s AAV to come in around Cam York’s $5.15 million. But after Drysdale’s strong playoff showing for Philly this spring, followed by the huge $12.5 million x six-year deal that Bowen Byram landed, they realized they would have to up the ante.
Drysdale was the 6th overall selection in the 2020 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks, and came over to the Flyers in the 2023-24 season in exchange for Cutter Gauthier. While he missed the entire 2022-23 campaign with a shoulder injury, Drysdale has played better than 70 games in each of his two full seasons in Philly.
