3 Vancouver Canucks Trade Candidates Heading Into Next Season

The Vancouver Canucks struggled last season and rightfully so, they've made significant changes to their front office, and expect to see some more roster changes happening over the next couple of months.

The Canucks ended up losing out on the top pick of the NHL Draft, despite having the best odds to win the lottery. They'll head into next season with a ton of question marks regarding their roster, and there's a few players to keep an eye on when it comes to the trade market. Here's three Canucks who could be traded in the very near future:

Elias Pettersson

The trade rumors aren't going to bed quite yet, and Elias Pettersson continues to be linked to several teams. There's been plenty of trade chatter between the Canucks and the Pittsburgh Penguins, as Kyle Dubas reportedly made a trade offer shortly after free agency opened. The Pens aren't the only ones linked, as the Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, and Carolina Hurricanes all have the Pettersson situation on their radar.

Jake DeBrusk

DeBrusk was open to a trade after a dismal first season in Vancouver. The pesky winger only has his full no-movement clause until July of next year, so if the Canucks get an offer they can't refuse, expect to see DeBrusk at least asked to waive his no-move. The Boston Bruins continue to circle the waters, and the same goes for the Montreal Canadiens. 

Brock Boeser

While Thatcher Demko is certainly available on the trade market, the Canucks know they'll have to retain at least $2 million of the goaltenders remaining average annual value. Boeser, on the other hand, is still full of trade value and teams have been calling all summer long regarding the scoring winger. Boeser is owed $7.2 million AAV through the 2032 season, and has a full no-move. Word is he's only open to Boston, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Florida, Carolina, Vegas, Colorado, Montreal, and Toronto, with Minnesota being his number-one choice.
