Maple Leafs Sign Brendan Brisson To One-Year Contract

The Toronto Maple Leafs have added to their training camp roster, bringing in a former 2020 first-round pick. Multiple reports surfaced Friday morning, stating the Leafs have signed Brendan Brisson to a one-year deal.

Brisson, 24, is the son of agent Pat Brisson, and is a 6-foot forward, who can play down the middle, or on either wing. Since being selected with the 20th overall pick in 2020 by the Vegas Golden Knights, Brisson hasn't been able to land a regular shift, and has only appeared in 27 NHL games.

The Michigan University product spent last season mostly with the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League, where he posted 19 goals and 37 points in 66 games. The New York Rangers called him up for three games, where he chipped in with one assist.

Brisson's best season came back in 2024, with the Henderson Silver Knights, when the LA, California native scored an impressive 19 goals and 38 points in just 52 games. Brisson will be added depth for the Leafs, and will be in very tough to crack the lineup out of training camp.

What's more likely, is that we'll see Brisson play a top-six role for the Toronto Marlies, and replace some of the production lost from Alex Nylander heading to Calgary.
