UFA Logan Stanley Finally Lands Free Agent Deal

Scratch one more remaining UFA off the board. Hulking blueliner Logan Stanley has agreed to a one-year, $1.5 million deal with the New York Islanders.

The New York Islanders have announced the signing of free agent Logan Stanley to a 1-year contract. Per @FriedgeHNIC, the AAV is set at $1.5M 🤝

The deal comes just three days ahead of the Islanders' season-opener, in Toronto on Wednesday against the Maple Leafs.

Stanley, 6'7", 230 pounds, established himself as a solid third-pair defenseman with the Winnipeg Jets last season in 59 games. He was dealt to the Buffalo Sabres at the trade deadline, however, and his usage, and productivity, dipped. 

Nevertheless, he came into the offseason looking for a nice multi-year offer in free agency, but he missed out on the opening flurry on July 1, and has been sitting at home waiting for an offer to come. 

He'll join the Islanders, where he'll battle for a third-pairing or depth role on their blueline.
