3 Philadelphia Flyers' Trade Candidates As Roster Changes Coming

The Philadelphia Flyers are the worst team in hockey, and there's certainly going to be some drastic changes made to their roster. Word is, head coach Rick Tocchett is safe, and general manager Daniel Briere is going to turn to his roster to advance in trade talks to see how he can make some adjustments, and more importantly, some upgrades.

The Flyers enter Tuesday's action with a 0-5-2 record, being outscored 28-8, and it doesn't appear any help is on the way anytime soon. Here's three Flyers who are the most likely to be traded early on this season:

Simon Benoit

Benoit was acquired with in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs, which also saw Joseph Woll head to Philly, and while Woll has been solid, the same can't be said for Benoit. He's struggled at both ends of the rink, is often on the wrong side of the puck, has been making terrible reads, and is quickly becoming an afterthought for the Flyers. Benoit is on an expiring contract and will very likely be dealt at some point in the coming weeks/months.

Carl Grundstrom

The rugged physical winger is currently in the AHL, he's also a pending free agent, and don't be shocked to see the Flyers give him another shot in the NHL, just not in Philly. Grundstrom has speed, and can be effective if provided the right situation on a checking, or fourth-line. Last season he posted 15 points in 19 AHL games, and has a 12-goal NHL season under his belt, it just comes down to ice-time, and making the most of your opportunity. Grundstrom's certainly a trade candidate this season.

Owen Tippett

Tippett's heard his name on the block for a couple of seasons now, especially since Porter Martone and Tyler Foerster have arrived. This season has been dismal for Tippett, who has one goal, his lone point, in seven games, despite playing close to 16 minutes per night. Tippett's signed through the 2032 season at $6.2 million AAV, and owns a 10-team no-trade list. The Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins have contacted the Flyers before, don't be shocked to see these two teams in the mix.
