Report: Flyers' David Jiricek Already Drawing Trade Attention
Frank Seravalli reports that teams are monitoring the 22-year-old's deployment.
One opposing pro scout was disappointed not to see him in the lineup for Philadelphia's first two games.
Seravalli called it "noteworthy" that there's intrigue in his game around the league, but he didn't report that Philadelphia is shopping him.
Jiricek was the sixth overall pick in 2022, and the Flyers got him from Minnesota on deadline day in March in a straight-up swap for Bobby Brink.
Two Games On The Sideline, Then A Spot On The Third Pair
The Flyers opened the season 0-2-2.
Jiricek was a healthy scratch for the first two games, after he had been flagged as a likely seventh defenseman following a poor final preseason game.
Head coach Rick Tocchet reshuffled his lineup before Saturday's game against Carolina, and he said in September he'd seen definite improvement from Jiricek since the trade.
His role could grow.

Rasmus Ristolainen left Saturday's game with an undisclosed injury and missed Monday's game in Tampa.
Any longer of an absence would put more on Jiricek and Jamie Drysdale.
Philadelphia Is Already Looking At The Defense Market
Seravalli reports the Flyers have started looking at defensemen with added size to help goalies Dan Vladar and Joseph Woll. Internally, he says, the Flyers felt their blue line likely overachieved last season.
Ristolainen is in the final year of his contract, and sources told Seravalli the team has no plans to extend him.
Seravalli expects him to be one of the leading trade deadline commodities, maybe sooner if the Flyers keep struggling.

David Pagnotta reported September 27 that Philadelphia was "believed to be eyeing defensive depth."
Jiricek signed a two-year, $3 million extension April 1 that carries a $1.5 million cap hit through 2027-28, and he had no points in 25 games with Minnesota last season before the trade.
He's signed through 2027-28, when he becomes a restricted free agent.
