Kings' Kevin Fiala Finally Has Timeline After Multiple Setbacks
Fiala’s recovery has been a rollercoaster. He felt so good following surgery from that gruesome injury in Milan that he was skating in May and actually asked the Kings for permission to play in the World Championship on home soil in Switzerland. He struggled all summer and then required a cleanout surgery in September to remove screws that were inserted to strengthen the fracture. Fiala is expected to begin skating again this weekend with noted skills coach Andreas Larsson in Los Angeles. The plan is for him to rejoin the Kings for practice when they return home at the end of the month.
The initial injury was a tough one, when Canada's Tom Wilson fell on his leg in an awkward landing along the boards.

Fiala had surgery for severe leg fractures in February, and as Seravalli noted, he was skating just over two months later. But setbacks began to creep in, and it was decided to go for a "cleanup procedure" on September 10th, before training camp.
Now, just over a month later, he'll begin skating once again. With the timeline of joining the team at practice within a couple of weeks, the Kings could perhaps see Fiala back in game action sometime in November.
And with a winless start in their first five games (0-3-2) and just 11 goals in that span, Fiala would certainly be a sight for sore eyes for the team and its fans.
