We first heard about the possibility on Tuesday. Now the details are in, per two new reports, on the new extension in Boston for young Bruins forward Marat Khusnutdinov. It'll be a three-year deal with a $3.95 million AAV, according to Emilly Kaplan. That sounds like a nice, team-friendly contract considering where salaries have been going of late, even for non-stars.

The 24-year-old has proven his versatility as both a center and winger, as well as his ability to play on the penalty kill. He has two goals and five points through 10 games this season with a +6 rating, in 13:41 average ice time.

He's currently residing on the Bruins' second line alongside center Fraser Minten and right wing Morgan Geekie.

Khusnutdinov is coming off a breakout season last year, with career highs of 15 goals and 33 points and a plus/minus rating of +12. He averaged 14:30 of ice time per night.

He was due to become a restricted free agent with arbitration rights next summer. He's wrapping up a two-year, $1.85 million deal ($925,000 cap hit).

He was acquired by the Bruins in a deadline deal with the Minnesota Wild in March of 2025.
