Red Wings Senior VP Says Larkin & Team Have 'Kissed & Made Up'

An intriguing twist on the Dylan Larkin affair is coming to us today from Detroit Red Wings legendary executive Jim Devellano. No, he's not running the team anymore, but he is the Executive VP and Alternate Governor, and let's just say he's on the "inside" of what's happening in Hockey Town.

Devellano appeared on the Ozzy & Keats podcast this week, and said that all sides in this situation have "kissed and made up."

"I wish it hadn't have happened with Dylan. I can't go into the reasons why. That wouldn't be fair because I can't talk for Dylan, you know," said Devellano.

"But here's what I would say to you guys, uh, from our end. I'm talking about our (general) manager (Shawn Horcoff). I'm talking about Todd McLelland, our coach, and me, kind of as the old godfather on the side:

"We've kind of kissed and made up. Okay. We've we've kissed and made up. As I've said to Dylan personally, let bygones be bygones. You're a good player. We really would like you to stay. And that's kind of where it sits right now."

Now, whether Larkin sees it the same way as Devellano remains in doubt. We do know from a new report last night that he has increased his trade list, adding some new teams to the list of destinations that he would approve of. That doesn't necessarily sound like a player who's 'kissed & made up' to the extent of wanting to stay.

The belief seems to be that something could happen within the next week, if it does. At that point, it could be more like Larkin is kissing the Red Wing goodbye.
