Things are going from bad to worse in Detroit, and former Red Wings' captain Dylan Larkin is dead smack in the middle of it all. The Red Wings held their home opener on Friday night, and the team introduced Larkin as one of the scratches, and the fanbase didn't hold back one bit.

It got even worse for the entire organization, as just five minutes into the game, the Red Wings' faithful were chanting 'SELL THE TEAM'.

Red Wings head coach Todd McLellan spoke after the game and admitted he felt bad for Larkin to have to go through that. “Dylan being part of the team, he wanted to be out there for the ceremony,” McLellan said. Obviously he’s got to live with the ramifications of asking for a trade. It’s not comfortable for anybody, I feel bad for him. I do.”

The 30-year-old Larkin asked for a trade back in June, and has given up on the direction of the organization. The team has since removed Steve Yzerman from making personnel decisions, however, Larkin hasn't been able to find common ground with interim GM Shawn Horcoff, and remains on the trade block with his trade demands. There's been some talk about the Florida Panthers being interested if Aleksander Barkov is going to miss extended time.

We'll see how it all plays out, but Larkin getting introduced was bush league, and many folks around the game weren't happy.
