It's starting to sound like Dylan Larkin will be getting his wish, as reports have surfaced the Detroit Red Wings are closing in on finalizing a trade. Larkin is expected to be dealt within the next week.
John Buccigross on Frankly Hockey about the Red Wings: I think there's gooing be a trade within 7 to 10 days in Detroit. I got a little bit of information last night which tells me that we're going to see a trade[...] Seravalli: It has to be Larkin, right?. Buccigross: Yeah, Larkin.

Buccigross mentioned to Frank Seravalli on Friday that he's received information on a Larkin trade. Where exactly he winds up, is anyone's guess at this point. Multiple reports have stated that Larkin is open to a trade to up to 12 teams, but prefers a situation where he can be on a Stanley Cup contender this season.

The Minnesota Wild and Montreal Canadiens have been going hard after Larkin of late, so don't be surprised to see one of these two teams win the sweepstakes. Larkin asked out of Detroit after the end of the last season, and has been patiently waiting for a move. He suffered a lower-body injury during training camp, but unlike Connor Hellebuyck in Winnipeg, is playing through his trade demand.

Larkin is signed for $8.7 million AAV through the 2031 season, and owns a full no-trade clause. His initial list was the Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and Carolina Hurricanes, however, the Florida Panthers, Canadiens, San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers, and Pittsburgh Penguins have all reportedly been in contact with the Red Wings on their asking price.

Expect to see three or four pieces heading to the Red Wings, including a top-six forward, along with at least one top prospect, and first-round pick. Our prediction, Larkin gets moved to Minnesota, Bill Guerin's been locked in lately trying to meet the Red Wings' needs.
