Everything's going from bad to worse in Detroit. After Dylan Larkin demanded a trade and had his 'C' stripped off his jersey, add in the boo's opening night, and the fans chanting 'sell the team', you'd think it couldn't get much worse. However, Saturday night, Sportnet's Elliotte Friedman reported that defenceman Simon Edvinsson prefers to be traded.

Edvinsson, 23, is a restricted free agent, who is sitting without a contract. The former sixth-overall pick of the Red Wings is coming off a stellar season, posting 25 points in 72 games. He has a ton of potential and could eventually carve himself into a top-pairing role. Contract talks have been going back and forth, and so far no resolution, so you can't blame the young d-man for wanting out.

Look for the Red Wings to make a trade within the next week or so, as this added drama can't hang over the team much longer. They're already dealing with Dylan Larkin, and with the Florida Panthers having keen interest now with Aleksander Barkov out, Larkin could potentially be on the move soon.

As far as trade destinations go, Edvinsson is someone the Toronto Maple Leafs are very interested in.
