The Latest Intel on Teams Chasing Larkin, inc. Devils, Capitals, Mammoth & Wild

The Dylan Larkin drama has reached a boiling point in Detroit, as the Red Wings' disgruntled former captain has decided that he will no longer play for the team while he awaits a trade.

That has put many of the teams on his approved trade list back in the spotlight, and insiders have provided the latest intel.

Emily Kaplan says she's heard that the Washington Capitals and Utah Mammoth, while certainly teams to watch, have not had recent discussions with the Red Wings.

There were rumors making the rounds earlier in the day that Ryan Leonard was a name mentioned in talks with the Capitals, but Kaplan has denied that's the case.

She also noted that she's heard that the Minnesota Wild may have "one of the stronger offers" at this point, and calls them "one of the most aggressive in pursuing Larkin." We had heard over the course of this entire tangled affair that the Red Wings were not fans of what the Wild had to offer.

Meanwhile, former NHLer Jordan Schmaltz, host of the popular Home By 3 podcast followed by many current NHLers, says he's heard that the New Jersey Devils could be close to a deal for Larkin.

This rumor comes after the Devils came out of left field to win the Connor Hellebuyck Sweepstakes last week. Could his Olympic Team USA teammate Larkin be the next to join the star goalie and fellow Olympic hero Jack Hughes in New Jersey?

This is an ever-evolving situation. We will continue to provide updates here at NHLTR.
