Report: Roman Josi Could Be Traded By Nashville Predators

Nashville Predators general manager Chris MacFarland has turned his roster on its head since he took over in June, and if the Preds are out of the playoff picture this season, a franchise legend could be on the move.

Predators top defenceman and captain Roman Josi has this season and next on his contract, and is a prime trade candidate this season.
Pierre LeBrun: Re Roman Josi future/Predators: If they're 10 points out at Christmas, I think it behooves Chris MacFarland to go to his captain...and say, how do you feel about a potential move; that's possible - Oilers Now (10/28)

Josi, 36, is owed just over $9 million through next season, and owns a no-movement clause, so he'll have all the say in the matter. Considering the Preds are nowhere near Stanley Cup contenders, Josi may be open to joining a contender for a couple of runs at a Stanley Cup.

The Toronto Maple Leafs would have serious interest, as they have been looking to add at least one impact defenceman, and are open to trading away just about anyone from their blueline, including Morgan Rielly and Jake McCabe.

MacFarland has made almost a dozen trades, recently acquiring Shane Wright from the Seattle Kraken, and things continue off the rails in Nashville, look for Josi, Ryan O'Reilly, and potentially Jonathan Marchessault, and Steven Stamkos to all be shipped out.
