Patrick Marleau Trade Rumors

San Jose Sharks
GM Doug Wilson has watched his team finish top of the Western Conference during the regular season the past few years only to choke in the playoffs. The 2010-2011 season has been different. It seems every single player on the Sharks is struggling during the regular season.

Forward Patrick Marleau led his team with 44 goals last year; so far he only has 13 goals and he is a whopping -15. Marleau, who is 31, could use a change of scenery. An NHL source says, "At this point the Toronto Maple Leafs could have him, reuniting Marleau with his former coach in exchange for a serviceable defenseman and the much-needed salary cap space." The Sharks want Tomas Kaberle in return for Marleau. Kaberle is the type of defenceman the Sharks need and would make a good powerplay partner for Dan Boyle.
