Maxime Talbot Trade Rumors

Trade rumors continue to surround the Pittsburgh Penguins for the 2010-2011 NHL season. The Penguins are 4th in the Eastern Conference with their star centers Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin injured for part of the season. People like to think that Crosby and Malkin carry the team and without those players in the line-up, the Penguins cannot win.

Somehow, the team is finding ways to get wins with the absence of their dynamic duo. They have other players that have stepped up. Maxime Talbot is one such player. He has 11 points in 50 games this season. In his best season, he had 26 points.

Shero has many UFAs to sign and choices will have to be made who to sign and who to trade. The UFAs are Talbot, Mike Rupp, Mike Comrie, Aaron Asham, Pascal Dupuis and Eric Godard. It is ultimately up to these players with the exception of Comrie whose career in the NHL is over. Do they want to sign for the Penguins for cheap? Or test the NHL waters.
