Michael Cammalleri Trade Rumors

Trade rumors continue to surround the Montreal Canadiens for the 2011 NHL season.  The Canadiens are 6th in the Eastern Conference with 66 points.  Goaltender Carey Price has been their best player most nights.  Some of the Canadiens' small forwards are struggling.

Michael Cammalleri emerged when he scored a 80 point season with the Los Angeles Kings in 2006-2007 and then a 82 point season with the Calgary Flames in 2008-2009.  He looked like he was a legitimate NHL sniper.  Cammalleri received a hefty contract from the Canadiens for his efforts, backloaded with $7 million for the years 2012-2014.

He has failed to perform up to his contract this season with only 13 goals and 31 points.  GM Gauthier has been receiving offers from several NHL teams, including the Calgary Flames, Dallas Stars and Los Angeles Kings.  Look for Cammalleri to be moved before the trade deadline.
