Minnesota Wild Trade Rumors

2011-2012-nhl-hockey-trade-rumors

The latest trade rumors surround the Minnesota Wild for the 2011-2012 NHL offseason. The Wild traded Brent Burns and a 2012 2nd round draft pick to the San Jose Sharks for Devin Setoguchi, Charlie Coyle and a 2011 1st round draft pick. I predicted Burns' and Setoguchi's trade last season.

The trade is a win-win for both hockey teams. The Sharks add a top defender in Brent Burns who wanted out of Minnesota. The Wild get a goal scorer in Setoguchi, a top prospect and a 28th overall draft pick. The Wild now turn their attention to unrestricted free agent, Andrew Brunette, who is 37. Brunette had 46 points in 82 games last season but wants a change of scenery.

Look for the Ottawa Senators, Colorado Avalanche, and Florida Panthers to make a trade for Brunette in 2011-2012.
