Ray Whitney Trade Rumors

The Phoenix Coyotes are barely holding onto 8th place in the Western Conference for the 2012 NHL season. The Coyotes' future is uncertain because the team does not have an ownership group. Ray Whitney is a solid veteran player at 39 years of age who wants to win a Stanley Cup before he retires.

He is still a top performer leading his team in scoring with 49 points in 54 games. Whitney becomes a unrestricted free agent on July 1st. Sources say the San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers and Boston Bruins are looking to acquire Ray Whitney before the 2012 NHL Trade Deadline.
