Forget about Rick Nash frenzy, there is another captain, Shane Doan, of the Phoenix Coyotes who is going to be moved much sooner than Nash. Doan is 35 years old and is an unrestricted free agent who is looking for a raise in the $6 million dollar a year range. The right winger scored 50 points last regular season, and his on-ice leadership is his most valuable quality. He is unhappy with the unstable ownership situation in Phoenix.
Six teams have made offers for the coveted UFA. They are the LA Kings, Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins, San Jose Sharks, Detroit Red Wings and Buffalo Sabres. Reportedly, the richest offer on the table for Shane Doan is a four year $30 million dollar contract.
