General manager Feaster of the Calgary Flames signaled that his team was going through a full rebuild when he traded captain Jarome Iginla to the Pittsburgh Penguins last week. With less than 48 hours left until the April 3rd trade deadline, more Flames' veterans are being traded for draft picks. Today, defenseman Jay Bouwmeester was traded to the St Louis Blues for a first round draft pick.

Goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff is the next in line to be traded. He is 36 years old and is signed for one more season to a $5.83 million cap hit. Kiprusoff stated that he has no desire to leave Calgary and threatened that he would not report to his new team if traded.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are willing to take their chances to upgrade their goaltender position. The Leafs recently got permission from the Calgary Flames to speak with Kiprusoff's agent about a trade and contract extension. Look for Miikka Kiprusoff to join the Toronto Maple Leafs soon.
