The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to move Nikolai Kulemin before the 2014 NHL trade deadline. GM Dave Nonis said that his 27 year old right winger is available for trade.

Kulemin is a good checker and penalty killer who can put up points when with the right line mates. He is coming off a $2.8 million annual cap hit contract and is seeking a new contract worth $4 million a season. David Clarkson's $5.25 million annual cap hit contract is handcuffing GM Nonis, who cannot afford to resign Kulemin.

Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin wants to play on a line with his friend, Kulemin. They are both Russian and would have good chemistry together. The Pittsburgh Penguins are offering Brooks Orpik for Nikolai Kulemin.
