Rumor: Cody Franson to Buffalo Sabres

The NHL's top remaining free agent, Cody Franson, is being pursued by the Buffalo Sabres. The Buffalo News reports the Sabres offered Franson a two year deal.

The 28 year old defenseman has spoken to multiple teams this summer, and it appears the Sabres are the most interested. Franson is coming off a $3.3 million contract in 2014-15. Franson tallied 36 points in 78 games last season split between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Nashville Predators.
