Can Steven Stamkos Still Cash In July 1st?

No doubt Steven Stamkos will have endless suitors when free agency begins July 1st. One question not being asked enough however, is his value hurt by his recent health scare?

While it may seem like a silly question to ask, since the blood clot was deemed to not be serious, but other players have had to retire because of this very issue. None bigger than Stamkos, who will still command a large salary if he goes to July 1st.

Teams will have to consider what the risk can be signing him long-term and for a potential 10 plus million dollar salary. If this problem resurfaces, how much time will he miss?

Personally, I think a team will be able to get him at a lower salary if they offer him a longer deal like 7 or 8 years. Something like 8.5 to 9.5 million. If a team does offer 10 million plus, they clearly don't fear his blood clot problem.
