Steve Downie rips into Coyotes organization and Don Cherry

Former NHLer Steve Downie went on a Twitter rant about the Arizona Coyotes, the NHL, concussions and Don Cherry. Downie played only 26 games with the Coyotes last season before being put on waivers.

First, he went on a rant about head coach Dave Tippett and the team.

After that, he went on about the culture Don Cherry brings to the game, stating he was just following the Hockey Night in Canada's tips and he wished he'd never played the style Cherry told him to play.

In the last tweet, he was referring to the hit he laid out on Dean McAmmond that cost him a 20 game suspension and missing 10 games due to a concussion. Check it out:

Downie then took a shot at Cherry's opinion on visors.

Sorry Don, but you called me a [coward] for wearing a visor and trying to protect my eyes. Sad thing is I listened to you.

Downie was the 29th pick by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. In 434 games played, Downie has 76 goals, 120 assists for a total of 196 points. He leads all of his stats in the PIMs department with 1057 Penalties in Minutes.
