Report: Mark Stone Asking For Absurd Salary Ahead of Arbitration Hearing

Mark Stone is probably the biggest name in group of players that filed for arbitration. However, he and the Ottawa Senators aren't even in the same ballpark when it comes to Stone's salary.

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Senators are reportedly offering Stone 5 million dollars, which seems fair if not slightly underpaid considering Stone's performance.

Stone on the other hand is looking for a massive 9 million dollar contract. An incredibly steep bill considering Stone has never cracked 30 goals, and never collected more than 64 points in a season.

This past season, Stone had an excellent season, producing above a PPG rate (62 points in 58 games), but was held back due to injury.
