BREAKING: NHLer facing jail time

According to a report by Philadelphia Flyers insider Sam Carchidi, Jori Lehtera has been officially charged by Finnish authorities in connection with a major drug bust in Lehtera's homeland. Lehtera is accused of buying drugs from a major distribution ring in Finland.

According to Carchidi's report, Lehtera bought roughly around 8 grams of cocaine during the months of June and July while in nightclubs in the Finnish town of Tampere.  Lehtera has been adamant that he's never bought drugs from the 21 other people that were busted, but he has admitted to knowing at least of them.
Lehtera, one of 22 defendants in the case, told police that he knows two of the other men charged but denied buying drugs from them. He said he once paid 6,000 Euros for one of the men to attend drug rehab, Carchidi cited.
I paid for his detoxing treatment, Lehtera told police according to Finland's Urheilu television station. For my part, it was charity. I felt I did the right thing.
Finnish authorities are seeking at least 5 months of jail time for the Flyers' forward. The NHL and the Philadelphia Flyers haven't stepped in to suspend Lehtera during the ongoing investigation as a result of the announcement. The trial is expected to last less than a week, so Lehtera's fate will be known shortly.
