connor mcdavid 2 game suspension

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid has been suspended two games for an illegal check to the head of New York Islanders defenceman Nick Leddy. After conducting a phone hearing with McDavid, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced the suspension Friday afternoon.

During Thursday’s game against the NY Islanders, McDavid’s shoulder made clear contact with Leddy’s head, resulting in a minor penalty for McDavid. Leddy was slow to get up, and remained in the game. McDavid continued on to score the overtime winner for the 4-3 win.
