Top NHL prospect 1 goal away from breaking a league record!

Considered as the top European prospect for this coming NHL Entry Draft, Kaapo Kakko is having one amazing season in Finland.

With only 3 games left to play this season, he is only a single goal away from breaking Aleksander Barkov's record of 21 goals in a season by a player under the age of 18. Barkov broke the record in 2012-13 when he scored 21 goals in 53 games. Kaapo however, has played 41 games this season.

So far this season, Kaapo has scored 20 goals and 34 points in 41 games this season in the Liiga. With his statistics, he's already the third top scorer under 18 in Liiga's history. He's just behind Mikael Granlund (40) and Aleksander Barkov (48).

Let's not forget that Kaapo Kakko scored the golden goal against the United States at the World Junior Championship.

Will Kaapo Kakko go 1st overall or will he be beaten by Jack Hughes at the upcoming NHL Entry Draft?
