NHL Trade Rumor: Evgeni Malkin for Ryan Getzlaf and Max Jones

The trade buzz has intensified of late as NHL insiders across the league have confirmed Evgeni Malkin could be done in Pittsburgh. According to sources close to the Penguins, the Anaheim Ducks have a couple players on Jim Rutherford's radar, Ryan Getzlaf and Max Jones.
Ryan Getzlaf, much like Gino has a NMC, however Jim Rutherford is willing to kick the tires on if there's any interest in playing with Sidney Crosby.

For Malkin who has an offseason home in Florida and family ties to New York, the West Coast could also be an attractive destination for the Russian center. Swapping Malkin for Getzlaf would allow for the Penguins to immediately fill the 2nd line center role and give them a new look down the middle with Crosby, Getzlaf and Bjugstad.

The Ducks on the other hand add an international superstar to their mix of European forwards and keeps them away from a rebuild and allows for them to re-tool on the fly. For the Pens GM, Max Jones gives Rutherford another young piece for his top 9 who has a ton of upside. Blazing speed on a cheap contract with serious offensive potential bodes well for the Penguins future.

Speaking of future, it's sound more and more like Malkin's will be spent with a new uniform on.
