Carolina Hurricanes sign Jake Gardiner to a contract

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenceman Jake Gardiner to a four-year contract, with an AAV of $4.05M a year.

Gardiner is coming off a season where he scored 3 goals and 27 assists for a total of 30 points in 62 regular season games.
Jake is a solid veteran blueliner with a proven history of contributing offensively including on the powerplay, GM Waddell told the media. He's had options this summer, but ultimately decided that Carolina is hit best fit, and we're thrilled to have him here.
