Avalanche and Rangers could pull off blockbuster trade

The New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche have been linked in trade rumors for most of the last two months. Scouts from both teams have been spotted at each others games over the past few weeks and Adrian Dater of Coloradohockeynow.com stated he believes the Av's are targeting Chris Kreider from the Rangers aggressively.

Colorado GM Joe Sakic is believed to be willing to part with a first round pick or possible top prospect to the Rangers for Kreider. Top Avalanche prospects rumoured are 2018 first round pick Martin Kaut and AHL Defender Conor Timmins. Sakic has also been looking to shore up his goaltending before playoffs. Would the Rangers be interested in moving Kreider and goalie Alex Georgiev to the Av's for a first and third round pick, along with Martin Kaut and Conor Timmins?

This would be quite a haul for the Rangers if they can pull off a deal with the shroud Sakic. Where there is smoke, there is fire. Watch for something to come down between the Av's and Blueshirts before the trade deadline.
