Nashville may be sellers at the deadline

With the Nashville Predators struggling to keep pace in the western conference playoff race, big changes could be on the way in music city.

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reported over the weekend that there is no shortage of talk the Head Coach Peter Laviolette is on the hotseat in Nashville. The Predators lost last night in a shootout to the Anaheim Ducks and the heat is being turned up on the coaching staff and players in Nashville.

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet also noted on the "Hotstove" segement that Nashville GM David Poile has been burning up the phone lines to see what is out there in the trade market. The Predators could become sellers at this years deadline if they don't gain ground in the west soon.

The Nashville Predators have a couple UFA forwards they could dangle for prospects or picks. Mikael Grandlund and Craig Smith would be of interest to several teams looking to bolster their lineups for the stretch drive. Poile has been trying to move forward Kyle Turris for quite sometime, but can't find any takers for the $6 million that Turris is signed to another 4 seasons after this. There is a high chance that Kyle Turris gets bought out, if a trade cannot be found this season.
