Rumor: Ducks listening to offers for Ryan Getzlaf

The Anaheim Ducks are struggling in the western conference, and there has been internal discussions regarding moving long-time star, Ryan Getzlaf. According to sources, there's been a level of consideration since the day Corey Perry was bought out, and it appears the Ducks could be ready for a complete re-build.

To be clear, the Ducks are not shopping Getzlaf, however, they haven't been hanging up the phone when team's have asked for him either. The Ducks veteran forward who is enjoying himself a bounce back season, has full no-trade protection and people close to him believe he will only waive his NMC for the Vegas Golden Knights, Edmonton Oilers, or Colorado Avalanche.

A package for Getzlaf would have to include a couple top prospects and at least one 1st round pick. The 35-year-old has one more year on his current deal, $8.25 million dollars. If the Ducks want to maximize the package, look for the team to retain roughly $2 million next year on the deal, which would essentially be one way for the team to buy another first round pick or prospect off Getzlaf's team of choice.

The power lies in Ryan Getzlaf's hands, as it could be the end of an era in Anaheim.
