Edmonton Oilers make surprising announcement!

The Edmonton Oilers have announced Finnish forward, Jesse Puljujarvi has signed a two-year deal with the Oilers, and is coming back from across the pond.

The deal pays the former first-round pick $1.175 million per season. This contract comes after it seemed like the relationship between the two parties were never going to find the same page, that turns out, is not the case.

After long discussions between the player, the agent, and Oilers GM, Ken Holland, there was a focus on the present and the short-term future, and how everyone involved could learn from the past.

Puljujarvi has played 137 career NHL games and has only tallied 37 points in what's certainly been an inconsistent start to his career. However, in Finland last season, Puljujarvi collected 53 points in 56 games in a top-line role for his team.

Given the chance, it appears the player is capable of producing. The Oilers are in desperate need of secondary scoring and if Puljujarvi can get rolling for Edmonton, their offense could be one of the best in the league!
