Rumored Trade Package Colorado Sending to Tampa Bay for Steven Stamkos

News dropped earlier this week that Steven Stamkos was not 'untouchable' in Tampa Bay, and multiple reports suggested the Lightning would consider moving their captain at the right price. While some have mentioned the price would be astronomical, the Colorado Avalanche are one team to keep an eye on here.

According to one western conference executive, he could see the Avalanche kicking tires on Stamkos and envisions Colorado as one team Stamkos would waive his no-move clause to join. It's likely their deal would consist of forwards Tyson Jost and J.T Compher, along with defensive prospect Bowen Byram.

The Lightning would only move Stamkos if a deal was in place that saved them money, provided them with NHL-ready bodies, and at least one prospect or draft pick that helps their future.

With a flat salary cap, teams across the NHL have to get creative to find ways to save money and keep their core together. It turns out, this week, we found out who Tampa Bay considers to be 'their core'.

Steven Stamkos didn't touch the list.
