NHL Releases New Divison Names

The NHL has shuffled the teams in each division according to geographic location. The announcement of the Canadian division was not a surprise, but the official name of each division certainly has been.

The Metropolitan, Atlantic, Central, and Pacific divisions have been reshuffled and renamed. The importance of increasing revenues via sponsorships has been recognized by the league, but is this taking it too far?

If you needed proof the NHL really is changing, here it is: Per league release -- Discover, Honda, MassMutual and Scotiabank will be the names of the Divisions "for 2020-21 NHL Season"
