Rumor: Minnesota Wild Working Hard to Complete Trade

The Minnesota Wild are one of the many surprises so far this NHL season as the team was not expected to be among the playoff picture. That's certainly changed with the emergence of star rookie Kirill Kaprizov as the team is currently sitting in third place in the West division. Expect to see general manager Bill Guerin try to add to his forward group according to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet

It's likely Guerin tries to pull off a 'hockey deal' and stays away from the rental market as the future continues to be the focus on Minny. However, if the right deal comes around for a rental, there's no doubt Guerin will do what's best for his hockey team for this season.

Names to consider here include rentals Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac of the New Jersey Devils, Taylor Hall of the Buffalo Sabres, and Sam Bennett of the Calgary Flames. If this becomes more of a 'hockey deal' expect Guerin to head East to make the deal as it's rare to see hockey deals from teams in the same conference.

The Wild sit 23-11-2 on the season and have a ten point cushion on the 5th place St Louis Blues in their division. While their play has certainly been surprising up to this point, don't be shocked to see a trade come this week from Bill Guerin and the Wild's management team.
