San Jose Sharks Looking to Trade Surprising Name

The San Jose Sharks at one point thought forward Kevin Labanc could develop into one of the team's best players. Now they're looking to move him out of town.

Reports have surfaced suggesting the Sharks are starting to talk trade with multiple teams regarding Labanc and many others on their roster. While the team knows they need to improve next season, they don't want to throw in the towel and completely rebuild. They prefer to make deals for proven NHL talent, however appear to be open to picks for the upcoming draft as well.

As for Labanc, at 25 years old he's still hasn't tapped into his ceiling of potential and continues to develop. This past season he scored 12 goals and added 16 assists in 55 games. While a career season in 2018-19 set him up with a nice contract of $4.725 million per season, it appears the Sharks have some buyer remorse as they are looking to get rid of the last three years of his contract.

At this point you can put the Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators and Carolina Hurricanes on the list of teams expected to have some level of interest.
