Vancouver Canucks Expected To Re-Sign Veteran

The Vancouver Canucks are likely re-signing Brandon Sutter, according to Dan Murphy.

Sutter has been a reliable two-way forward for the Canucks over the six seasons. Although his offensive numbers have regressed in recent years, he still can be an effective part of the team's penalty kill moving forward. His $4.375 million cap hit was way too high, but now they should be able to re-sign for far cheaper. That is not a bad thing at all when looking at his leadership qualities, too.

In 43 games this season, the 32-year-old scored nine goals and recorded 12 total points. Expect to see him as a mainstay of their fourth-line this upcoming season.
