Rumor: Two Teams Interested In Jake DeBrusk

Jake DeBrusk has been a name in the rumor mill, but a deal has yet to come into fruition. However, according to Fluto Shinzawa of The Athletic, the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames are both interested in the Bruins winger.

DeBrusk is coming off of a down season that also saw him be a healthy scratch on multiple occasions. In 41 games, the 24-year-old scored five goals and recorded 14 points. It was a far cry from the 27-goal campaign he had during the 2018-19 season. Therefore, it is understandable that he has been in the rumor mill for the Bruins. He may be a player who needs a change of scenery.

DeBrusk is an Edmonton native and his father Louie also played for the Oilers during his career. The Oilers certainly could benefit from adding another left winger to their lineup. Yet, the Flames could be a nice consolation option for him personally, as Calgary of course is in Alberta, too. Furthermore, like the Oilers, they could use another player who has been capable of top-six minutes in the past.

We will see what occurs with DeBrusk. Keep in mind, it is almost September, so the Bruins could end up going with the roster they have right now.
