Vancouver Canucks: 2 Players Most Likely to Be Traded Next Season

The NHL offseason is underway and there's been a ton of movement so far this summer. Along with mega-contracts being handed out and an expansion draft in Seattle, there's been multiple trades that will have huge impacts on the 2021-22 NHL season. Trades will continue this summer and of course into next season, so we shift our focus to the next deal for each franchise.

Follow along as we highlight a couple of players from each team who are most likely to be traded next season. Last time around we were in Canada's capital and investigating the Ottawa Senators, today we move west to the Vancouver Canucks.

2 Canucks Most Likely Getting Traded Next Season:

Brandon Sutter: The veteran center signed a one-year deal to stay in Vancouver, making much less money this time around. The Canucks are expected to compete for a playoff spot next season, but if they struggle, Sutter will be dealt at the deadline for an asset or two. Last season he only managed 12 points in 43 games and would give a contender some depth for their checking-line center role. His new contract does not have trade protection included.

Tyler Myers: Out of the core on defense, Myers is the most likely to be moved. The towering defender has three seasons left on his deal at $6 million and could fetch a solid forward in return should Jim Benning decide to move him. His first season was a struggle, but last season was much better in Vancouver for Myers. He holds trade protection, as he submits a list of 10 teams he doesn't want to play for, however, it doesn't completely tie the Canucks hands should they want to move him.
