Dallas Stars: 2 Underrated Players To Watch

The NHL has so many underrated players who deserve far more recognition. In this segment, we will be discussing two from every team in the league. Their overall roles and abilities may differ, but they all share the common theme that they are not as respected as they ought to be.

In this piece, we will be looking at the Dallas Stars. They have a pretty strong roster with big names like Tyler Seguin and Miro Heiskanen. However, what also should help them this season is that they have a ton of depth with it. These two underrated players are clear examples of that.

Radek Faksa C: Radek Faksa had a down year this past season, as he had six goals and 14 points in 55 games. However, even with that, he was still very effective at faceoffs, as he won 55.8% of his draws. Thus, even if he was not the most productive offensively, he still was important to the lineup. When he's on his game, he also is capable of producing 30 to 35 points over an 82-schedule, which is quite solid for a bottom-six forward. He also is active in the physical side of the game, as evidenced by his 100 hits this season. Most importantly, though, he works extremely well defensively and on the penalty kill.

Luke Glendening C: Although fans may be more focused on the Ryan Suter signing, Luke Glendening is also a good addition for the Stars. The veteran center won 60.9% of his faceoffs last season, while also being strong defensively. His presence should be very beneficial to the team's fourth-line and potentially their penalty kill as well. In 54 games last season, he scored six goals and had 15 points. Thus, he is capable of producing decent depth scoring, too.
