3 Potential Landing Spots For Anaheim Ducks Captain Ryan Getzlaf

It has been established that the Anaheim Ducks are likely to be sellers at this year's trade deadline. One veteran who has an expiring contract is captain Ryan Getzlaf. He may not be the star he once was, but he surely will get interest from around the league because he still can contribute. In seven games on the season thus far, he has four assists. Teams looking to get more help down the middle will definitely be calling the Ducks about him.

Here are three teams who are very likely to do so.

Pittsburgh Penguins: As we reported recently, it would not be surprising at all to see the Pittsburgh Penguins pursue Getzlaf. At the trade deadline last season, they worked hard to acquire the veteran center, but a deal just did not get finalized. When considering the fact that the Penguins are dealing with injuries to Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin already this season, it wouldn't be a bad thing for them to bring in more depth down the middle. Getzlaf would also give them another player with a ton of playoff experience, too.

Dallas Stars: The Dallas Stars were close to signing the 36-year-old center this summer, so yes, it's not far-fetched to believe that they would want to add him again. The Stars have been exploring Jamie Benn at center again, but he probably is better playing his natural position at left wing. Getzlaf could be an excellent 3C option, as he not only can still produce offensively, but also has a bit of an edge to his game.

Boston Bruins: Just like the Stars, the Boston Bruins were in on Getzlaf this summer and were viewed as potential frontrunners. Yet, the veteran opted to head back to Anaheim instead. It would make a lot of sense to see Getzlaf moved to the Boston, especially when considering the fact that they need more depth at center. The loss of David Krejci is a big one and adding another veteran like Getzlaf could help with that a bit.
