Big Update Regarding Sidney Crosby

Pittsburgh Penguins fans rejoice, the captain is coming back. Sidney Crosby has been out all season rehabbing from offseason surgery and on Wednesday took reps with the top power play unit at practice. All signs are pointing to Crosby suiting up for the Penguins when they take on the Calgary Flames on Thursday.

Crosby has been skating throughout this entire procedure and in the summer months did some training in Montreal with some of the league's best including Connor McDavid. Word is him and McDavid were on the same line during these games and asked to be as they expect to be playing together come the Olympics.

As for the Penguins, they have been on fire so far this season and that's without the likes of Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Bryan Rust, Kris Letang and Jeff Carter. The team always seems to be hit with injuries and this season COVID has shown its ugly face. Leave it up to coach Mike Sullivan to instill the next man up attitude and lead the Penguins to a 3-1-2 record.

Crosby is coming off a season where he put up 62 points in 55 games and is still among the league's elite. The Penguins will be welcoming him back with open arms!

***Update*** Crosby has been ruled out and is likely suiting up on Saturday.
