Don't Expect to See This New York Rangers Prospect Anytime Soon

While the New York Rangers just found out they will be losing forward Sammy Blais for the season due to a torn ACL, turns out they won't be calling on top prospect Vitali Kravtsov to come back from the KHL.

The former first-round pick was not happy with his role so far with the organization after the Rangers selected him in the ninth overall at the 2018 draft. He's only played in 20 NHL games since and has recorded four points.

Kravtsov thought this was going to be the year for him to get some more ice-time with the big club, but after a shaky training camp that wasn't the case at all. He then took his ball and went home, landing back in the KHL after not agreeing to plan any AHL games.

While Blais may be out for the year, looks like the Rangers will have to look for other players to step up in his absence. The likes of Alexis Lafreniere and Kaapo Kakko need to be better for the blue shirts if they are going to get themselves back into contention in the Eastern Conference.
